Congratulations on the purchase of kits made hinged hood best. We are very proud of this kit, and you will too! We tried to make the installation as easy as possible. Most of the kit is pre-assembled to help you. You will need tools, a drill, and 1/8″, 1/4″ and 3/8″ bit, and a series of files.
1. When the hood closes with the new hinge, hangs with the stock hood stopped. The latch of safety, or secondary firm is no longer necessary, then remove it.
2. Remove the cap and slide in stocks. We recommend that you set the bonnet and rear wings to adjust the line to all parts of the body front. Remember the cover for the cab, the wings are moved to match the hood. Then, take the hood back off.
3. With the cap upside down, remove the stock hood and support brackets. To remove the brackets, a rub with sandpaper, this will show you the place where are the welds. Drill a 1 / 8 “hole all the way through the center of each point of welding. Then use a 3 / 8″ drill bit and through the bracket (1 / 2 course). There are three spot welds in all media. You should be able to pry the bracket off hours.
4. Bolt in the new hood straps. First, set the length by adjusting the rod end of show 1 / 4 “of exposed thread. (Figure 1) Bolt the rod ends in stock holes on the back of the hood, with the bars located on. Mounting the pivot bar in two hood braces. Put three washers between the end and the rod assembly (Figure 2) on each bar. With the pivot bar mocked up, far from within the hood on board mounting flange on the hood stops, move the brackets to when both sides of the same measure. clamp mount flange and drill three 1 / 4 “holes in each side. Slide the wire under the bolt plate and straps for the hood (Figure 3 and 4)
